Project 17 to provide Thanksgiving dinner to ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ family

Published November 19, 2014

Project 17β€”the University of Louisiana at Monroe’s united campus ministries organization, which includes Chi Alpha, the Wesley Foundation, the Catholic Campus Ministry, Warhawks for Christ, and the Baptist Collegiate Ministryβ€” will provide a free Thanksgiving dinner to members of the ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ family from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 27, at the Catholic Campus Ministry, located at 911 University Ave.

For many students, especially international students and dorm-bound students, travelling home is not always an option during a short holiday break. Project 17 helps to provide a friendly, family-like atmosphere for those who cannot travel.

The meal is open to all ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ family members who may not have a place to enjoy the holiday meal.

β€œProject 17 is already working to provide a wonderful meal and experience for all international students, faculty, staff, campus-bound students, and guests,” said Tyler Gerfers, the ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ Chi Alpha director. β€œLocal churches and people in the community are making this possible as we strive to feed and demonstrate the love of Christ to over 200 students for Thanksgiving. Last year’s event was a success and we are hoping for an even greater turnout this year!”
